But few people think of urban areas for great places to stroll around and enjoy the beauty of the architecture and atmosphere of its streets. So today we want to show you four places of the island perfect for strolling around while enjoying the cosmopolitan side of the island.
Dalt Vila
Declared World Heritage Site in 1999, Dalt Vila is the historic centre of Ibiza town where there are endless beautiful narrow streets perfect for strolling around for hours and meet the Ibiza of yesteryear. Located between the wall and the port, the old fishing district has become one of the most lively area of the whole city, it is the popular district of La Marina. This place is perfect for a walk at any time, as during the daytime is a lively area where you can do the most original shopping or have an ice cream as you stroll through its charming streets, while at night it turns into a whole different show. The terraces and restaurants attract hundreds of people who want to start the evening in a fantastic way with the streets full of atmosphere especially thanks to the parades that encourage people to carry on the night in the big clubs of the island. Santa Gertrudis Village
In the countryside of the island, this small village full of rural charm will dazzle anyone. Strolling around in this village is a delight as the streets are full of life and you can still find some lifetime business such as the old tobacconist in the church plaza. This place is also perfect to make a stop along the way and have a tapa or a snack, as Santa Gertrudis is full of small restaurants, each one with its own personality that make this village a colourful and varied place. Moreover, although in recent years the population has grown, the architectural style of the new buildings fit in perfectly with the traditional essence you can breathe in the whole village so that the magic of this place is never lost.
Ses Variades
On the other side of the island, overlooking the western horizon, there’s a wonderful promenade that goes from the harbor breakwater to the beach of Caló des Moro, where you can enjoy one of the most beautiful sunsets on the island.
